As of September 4, 2013, the 1939 Green Township High School is officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places!
For nearly 75 years, the historic Smithville High School (currently Greene Middle School) has been the facility that has taught generations. Now we have the opportunity to continue its teaching legacy and make it a community center for all of us to use and enjoy.
We met the funding deadline, however the Green Local School District Board of Education failed to take any action to allow us to convert the building to a family-friendly Performing & Fine Arts Center complete with a community theater, library & resource center, art gallery, continuing education classes and activities for children and adults.
To this end, GTHPS will continue to solicit for cash donations, pledges and in-kind donations to further secure the future of the School as a community center, performing arts center and fine arts center.
Please make your tax-deductible pledge or donation to keep this historic gem enriching the lives of our children for generations to come. Donate today (using the link below) or by mailing this form.
The purposes of this Society, as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation are:
We strongly support and are committed to the historic restoration and preservation of the 1939 Green Township High School for educational, school, and community use.
