As of September 4, 2013, the 1939 Green Township High School is officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places!

For nearly 75 years, the historic Smithville High School (currently Greene Middle School) has been the facility that has taught generations. Now we have the opportunity to continue its teaching legacy and make it a community center for all of us to use and enjoy.

We met the funding deadline, however the Green Local School District Board of Education failed to take any action to allow us to convert the building to a family-friendly Performing & Fine Arts Center complete with a community theater, library & resource center, art gallery, continuing education classes and activities for children and adults.

To this end, GTHPS will continue to solicit for cash donations, pledges and in-kind donations to further secure the future of the 1939 Green Township High School as a community center, performing arts center and fine arts center.

On November 6, 2013 in the Wooster Daily Record published a letter from the Green Local Board of Education. THIS INFORMATION IS FALSE! If you would like to know the truth about the issues please take the time to CLICK HERE and read about it yourself.
